Early Years and First Fame
Tammy Slaton was born on July 27, 1986 in the state of Kentucky, USA. She has a sister named Amy Slaton and a brother named Chris Combs.
Tammy Slaton along with her sister Amy Slaton became popular after they starred in the TLC Network reality show “1000-lb Sisters”. The show told the story of the life and journey of two sisters who were trying to lose weight. The combined weight of the two sisters at the beginning of the show was just over a thousand pounds (about 500 kilograms), and Tammy herself weighed over 600 pounds (about 300 kilograms). During the filming of the show, Amy and Tammy hoped to inspire others who were suffering from the same problems. The show completed two seasons and was renewed for a third season.

Tammy has had health problems since birth. She was diagnosed with 4th degree obesity and at her peak her weight was 717 pounds (about 360 kilograms). According to Dr. Goldman, weight relapse is very common in cases like Tammy’s, and so her weight loss adventure needs to be viewed as a whole set of procedures involving proper dietary choices and exercise. Goldman suggested that Slaton get her doctors and nutritionist involved as soon as possible and together come up with a plan to help her maintain her current weight.
One concern is that if Tammy eats foods that are high in fat and/or high in sugar, there is a chance she could suffer from “dumping syndrome,” – People can experience vomiting, diarrhea, sweating and dizziness when food enters the small intestine too quickly. How Did Tammy Slaton Lose Weight?
Tammy’s weight loss adventure began in 2020 during the filming of the reality show 1000-lb Sisters. The girl’s main weight loss goal was to raise money and have bariatric surgery. This surgery regulates intestinal hormone levels to make weight loss more achievable. But for it to be performed, she had to reduce her weight to 550 pounds (about 275 kilograms).
This result she managed to achieve during the three seasons of the show by putting in a lot of effort related more to switching to a proper diet coupled with exercise.
In the end, she managed to lose 534.7 pounds.

For example, if we craved a candy bar, we got a protein bar, or if we wanted a milkshake, we drank a protein shake. If we wanted a Reese’s cup, we got sugar-free Reese’s cups…,” Tammy explained

Yes, during her weight loss, the girl regularly engaged in physical activities. Given her enormous weight, such activities had their own specifics.
