The story of Park Min Young is called wonderful, because she did not have to beat the thresholds of film studios and go through endless auditions – the producers themselves found the girl on the social network and invited her to try her hand at acting.

Early years. Carier start

Park Min-young was born on March 4, 1986 in Seoul. The only thing known about the childhood years of the movie star is that she grew up with her older sister in a wealthy family in the most prestigious district of Seoul, Cheongdam-dong, was fond of music, loved to draw and was engaged in horse riding. In the early 2000s, photos of a young girl with an unusually beautiful and very open smile accidentally came to the attention of SidusHQ managers, who contacted Min Young and themselves suggested that she use the services of the agency. After starring in a 2005 promotional video for one of the largest South Korean mobile operators, Min-young, or as her fans call her, just Min, began to receive offers and in less than a year she turned from yesterday’s unknown schoolgirl into a top model, whose photos graced the covers of Asian glossy magazines.

In 2006, Min made her first television appearance with a small role in the top hit sitcom High Kick, which was the start of her stellar career and the natural continuation of the young Korean actress’ fabulous success story. For the brilliant performance of the role of Yu Mi, the artist received three prestigious film awards, which opened the scoring for her victories.

Dramas with Park Min Young: the best roles

In the 2006 melodramatic comedy TV movie I’m a Teacher, the rising star played Eun Byul, the capricious but very pretty daughter of a crime boss, along with Kim Yoo Pin, Dan Ji, and Choi Seung Hyun. Ming’s next success was her participation in the long-running romantic horror film Hometown Legends. The film became the long-awaited third part of the cult series of the 80s and 90s, consisting of one-act mini-dramas.

Delightful special effects, the mesmerizing, if somewhat specific, atmosphere of Korean fairy tales, and, of course, the exceptional acting skills of Min and her colleagues, gave the project the status of the most popular series of the year, gathering viewers of all ages and fans of various genres on TV screens. The role of Gumiho, a mystical character in ancient Asian fairy tales, who lives for thousands of years and turns either into a fox or into a beautiful girl, brought Ming four film awards, including the award for Best Actress.

In the period from 2008 to 2010, Park played in several television projects, and in 2011, viewers saw her in the serial comedy-detective film City Hunter. The touching role of clumsy, always getting into trouble Na Na, forced to pay for the maintenance of her father, who will never wake up from a coma, cemented Ming’s fame as one of the brightest and most versatile young actresses. In the project, she collaborated with actors such as Lee Min Ho, Lee Jun Hyuk, Yang Jin Sung, and Kim Sang Joon. The series has become popular not only among adherents of Asian cinema, but also among everyone who loves unpredictable developments, beautiful cityscapes and breathtaking combat duels, in which the one who should not always win.

In the sad horror film Cat: Eyes That See Death, the actress played an employee of a homeless animal shelter who became a participant in strange events. The picture has earned many positive reviews from film critics, who noted the originality of the plot, the camera work, the deep and instructive meaning of the story, and, of course, the acting of Ming.

In 2011, viewers also saw Park in the love story “Man of Honor”, in which she played a nurse, and in 2012, in the fantasy series “Dr. Jin’s Time Travel”, starring Song Seung-heon and Kim Hye-ok.
2014 brought the actress roles in the TV series “From a Clean Slate”, where she played in a duet with Kim Myung Min, and “Healer”, in which she collaborated with Yoo Ji Tae, Kim Mi Kyung and Ji Chang Wook. For her role in the last, Min again received several prestigious awards, and critics noted her dramatic talent, sparkling with new facets with each work, and her unique gift of reincarnation.

In 2017-2018, the actress starred in the drama “Remember – War of the Son”, which became a real event of the film season. In a detective story with an unpredictable ending, Min played In Ah, Jin Woo’s girlfriend, with whom she investigated a long-standing very complicated crime that changed the lives of both of them. The highly emotional narrative did not leave viewers indifferent, but the reaction of some film critics, who said that Ming was already old enough to play such young student girls, upset the actress.

Park Min Young’s personal life

Despite being constantly busy filming, in 2013 the star was able to graduate from Dongguk University. A lot of noise was made by Min’s confession, which she made by posting her photos on social networks before and after plastic surgery. According to the actress, she changed the shape of her chin and got rid of the overhanging upper eyelid in the last grades of the school.

The main question of interest to fans is who the beautiful Ming is dating. It is known that between 2004 and 2006 she dated Lee Min Ho, her City Hunter co-star.

At the end of 2017, Min decided to take part in the popular show “In touch with Candy”, in which celebrities communicate on the phone with each other, not knowing exactly who they are talking to on very intimate topics. And although the purpose of the show is not to form couples, couples do form, and it is believed that only single stars can participate in the program. The anonymous interlocutor of the actress was Lee Jun Ki, who hid that he was in a relationship with Jung Hyo Bin. The producers took the side of the viewers disappointed by the act of the artist and removed the episode with the participation of Lee Jun Ki and Park Min Young from the air, which caused an even greater uproar.

Fans believe that during the recording of “In Touch with Candy”, Ming developed a liking for her secret interlocutor, and was upset to learn that it was Jun Ki, whom she knows and whose heart is already taken. However, both actors issued statements that the incident did not affect their good friendship in any way.

Park Min Young now

In 2018, Min starred in the comedy drama What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim?, which also starred Park Seo Joon. It is known that since the end of 2018, the actress has been involved in the work on the film “Her Private Life”, in which she played a fan of the idol of Korean youth, the passion for which almost prevented her from seeing her soul mate in the new employee.

The beloved of the heroine Ming is played by the Chinese star Zhan Zhe Han.
