Laura Pergolizzi was born in 1981 on March 18 on the coast of Long Island. Sometimes the network comes across information that LP was born in 1968. In 1999, LP met David Lowry, frontman of The Cracker, and began performing at the band’s concerts as a backing vocalist. David helped Lionfish record their first album, a small batch of which was completely sold out on the third day after it went on sale.

Deciding to go free-floating, LP left Lionfish and in 2001 released their debut album, Heart-Shaped Scar, produced by David. The singer was named the discovery of the year, and songs from “Heart-Shaped Scar” were included in the sound for the drama “Eternal Values”.

The second album was released in 2004 and was recorded in collaboration with Linda Perry. Created at the intersection of pop and rock with ethnic elements, Suburban Sprawl & Alcohol became a highlight in the world of show business and the LP accepted an offer from Jam Records, signing a contract with them to record the next record. Despite the hopes that the singer placed on cooperation with the main bosses of the music industry, she was forced to terminate the contract by paying a penalty. The Jam Records managers involved in the promotion of the new LP album tried to force the singer to change her image, insisting on a more feminine image. According to the singer, she was horrified when she tried on the dresses in which she was supposed to appear in the commercials of the advertising company, and therefore terminated her relationship with the famous label, thus creating a very unattractive reputation for the producers. Long-awaited Recognition

Left without producers, LP continued to perform. Some of the songs that she wrote but did not want to perform, the girl tried to sell, and soon became a successful songwriter. From 2006 to 2014, she created songs for Cher, Christina Aguilera, Leona Lewis and other pop stars. She did not sell the most personal songs dedicated to her girls and parting with them, they were included in her third album, which brought her worldwide fame.

Forever for Now by Warner Bros. Records at the end of 2014 marked the victory won by LP in the struggle for self-expression.

The 2016 album, quite expectedly, became the sales leader in America and Europe. “Lost on You” is a musical canvas, as if woven from the style combinations of the rock trends of the new time. In autumn 2017, LP performed in Sochi as a guest of the New Wave competition for young performers.
