The second single “Where Did I Go” and its video, recorded at Cadenza Studios, caught Drake’s attention, and while critics praised both the young soul singer’s gentle voice and her dainty bet on sexuality, which many say and became the determining factor for the famous womanizer Drake.
In late 2016, after the undeniable success of Jorja’s performance on Radio 1, in which she sang with Maverick Saber and Ed Thomas, Drake invited the young singer to participate in his Drake’s Boy Meets tour as a special guest. At the performances, Jorja was given a unique opportunity to perform her own compositions, and after her return, she released the song “Teenage Fantasy”, after which she signed a contract with Joel Compass, who co-wrote and co-produced her debut album “Lost & Found”.
Released in the summer of 2018, the album earned exceptionally positive reviews from critics, including such authoritative personalities in the world of music as Jem Aswad and Thomas Smith, as well as Kieren Yates, who noted an amazing combination of sensual vocals, style, competent advertising support and gentle flirting with listeners. Yeats’ note was published in his column in The Guardian and also became a kind of advertisement for Jorja.
The album charted at number three in Smith’s home country and was certified Silver. In the United States and Australia, the record was also a success, albeit somewhat flattened compared to Britain, but the compositions “Blue Lights”, “Teenage Fantasy” and “February3rd” appeared regularly on MTV and on the air of popular radio stations.
Having conquered the hearts of listeners all over the world, the girl became the object of close attention of fans who are interested in the smallest details from her life. After Smith began to collaborate with Drake, she was immediately credited with an affair with this famous heartthrob rapper. However, in the fan community they are sure that it was not the playboy Drake who became the lover of the young beauty, but the young rapper and aspiring producer Joel Compass.
