Dima Gordey is a Russian video blogger who became popular thanks to the YouTube project “Pimp Your Wheelbarrow”.

Dmitry Gordeev was born on May 31, 1991. The blogger spent his childhood and youth in his hometown, in St. Petersburg. When Dima was 4 years old, his parents gave him a brother, Andrei. From early childhood, the famous YouTuber was involved in speed skating and in the 10th grade he became a candidate for master of sports.
According to Dima, he got his first bicycle, like most boys, in childhood. Gradually, the passion for cycling replaced all other interests, and Dima began to dream of a real bike. The object of dreams of a St. Petersburg schoolboy was not cheap, so in his free time from lessons, the teenager worked in the company of his friend’s father. The money he earned was not enough for a mountain bike, but his parents added a small amount, and at the age of 16 Dima became the owner of the legendary BMX. A year later, he took part in the first competition, and at the age of 18 he became one of the best riders at the SNICKERS URBANiYA festival.
In 2008, the guy entered the St. Petersburg Railway University, which his mother once graduated from. After practice, he realized that the future of a railway engineer did not attract him at all. Shortly before graduation, Dima received an offer to work in a circus show in Germany. Without hesitation, the young man left the university, the opportunity to live in a European country seemed to him a tempting prospect. A salary of 1,400 euros allowed him to save up money for a BMW, in which, according to him, he traveled all over Europe. For 8 months, the future video blogger lived in Germany, and after the end of the contract, he did not look for another job in Germany and returned home.
Upon his return, Gordey was unpleasantly surprised by life in Russia. What Dima had not noticed before, now caught his eye. The Russians are angry, poor and immersed in their own problems, the blogger says, when I returned, I realized that I didn’t want to live like that.

In 2011, Dima published the first videos, mostly diaries of training and travel. After returning from Germany, the young blogger began creating instructional videos in which he talked about how to ride safely, how to warm up and how to improve the bike.
At first, there were few subscribers, Dima told the host of the telblog.net YouTube channel, and those who were interested in cycling watched the channel. In 2015, Gordey again went to Europe to work, by this time he had already decided to seriously engage in the content of his channel. Dima’s audience consisted of several thousand subscribers, but when he began to publish videos about life abroad, the channel’s popularity began to grow. After the end of the contract, Gordey decided to stay in Germany for another 8 months. Blogging remained a hobby for him, he still published video reports of his travels, drifting and “tutorials” for riders. The videos were dynamic, Dima used Russian songs and tracks of Western stars as sound accompaniment, and a year later the number of subscribers increased to 100 thousand. Returning home, the blogger was able to afford to live on the income from the YouTube channel.
In 2016, the bike was replaced by cars, by which time Dima had already decided to stay in Russia. This is not the most comfortable place on earth, the blogger says, and you should always be prepared for trouble. One of these troubles was the story of the purchase of the “eight” with the “broken” numbers for the project Autosentence. When transporting a car, Dmitry and his friend Ilya Strekalovsky had to explain themselves to representatives of law enforcement agencies.
In less than two years, Dima managed to turn his channel into a successful project with a million audience. The blogger purchased a BMV X5-M, which he called a dream car, and developed the “Pimp Your Car” project, which is a copy of the popular American program. Many Russians were happy to entrust the transformation of their car to Dima, because even from the most unsightly car he could create a fashionable car.

On Instagram, Dima publishes photo reports of episodes of his YouTube show and indulges fans with photos with his parents, brother and friends. Photos with Russian celebrities also serve as a good way to attract subscribers. Dima, at a fairly young age, was able to provide himself with the standard of living that he dreamed of. His success story is proof that nothing is impossible for a person passionate about what he loves.
