Minelli (Luiza Ionela Luca) is a Romanian singer, songwriter and music writer. The performer felt worldwide popularity after the release of her single “Rampampam”.

The future singer was born in Slobozia (a city in the southeast of Romania) on August 22, 1988. She began singing at the age of 11, when she formed a band with her cousin in her hometown. Initially, they simply sang in the yards, and after some time they began to be invited to local concerts. At the age of 17, she moved to Bucharest, where she began her career in the Wassabi group. At the age of 25, the girl already went to perform at various festivals.

Career and creativity

After the breakup of Wassabi, Minnelli worked as a songwriter, composing music for Mandinga, Horia Brenciu or Markus Schulz.
In 2016, Minelli started cooperation with the Moldovan producer Vanotek. “My Mind” – the first released single managed to gain fame in the world charts. Their second single “In the Bedroom” quickly skyrocketed to number one on iTunes and number six on Shazam.

In 2017, they released the song “No Sleep”, it was this track that made it possible for them to appear on the Russian charts. Also in 2017, Minnelli became a member of the record label Global Records and immediately after that, the singer released her first solo single “Empty Spaces”, which was released in 12 countries, including Germany, Denmark, Poland, Turkey and the Russian Federation. The song has been licensed by Ultra Records, a label that represents artists such as Kygo, Steve Aoki, Lost Frequencies. In 2019, Minelli released the track “Mariola”, which earned her the first place on the Airplay 100. It reached the top of the radio charts in Romania, iTunes, TV, Spotify Viral 50, and has collected more than 20 million views on Youtube. Moreover, the song was licensed by RCA / Sony Music Entertainment, which allowed the artist to perform internationally in countries such as France, UK, Germany, Russia, Bulgaria.

It’s hard to believe that MINELLI had periods when she thought she would quit music. Once, one of her tracks, released with Dave Ramone, was excluded from the charts for four weeks by the Federal Music Industry Association due to suspicion that they manipulated download processes on official sites. Despite the persistence and desire to justify themselves, their track was still banned from the charts for a whole month.
